Pony Swim

Summer | Each year, the Saltwater Cowboys swim the ponies from Assateague Island to Chincoteague Island. The swim is attended by people from around the world. After the swim, the Saltwater Cowboys parade the ponies down Main Street to the carnival grounds where the ponies will be auctioned. The swim takes place on the last Wednesday of July, and the ponies are auctioned on the last Thursday of July.
